The Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home is one a few establishments in Ontario and the first and only funeral home in Perth County to disclose actual funeral costs on the web. This has been done to allow for full access to information so that families who choose us are better informed and therefore better served.

How to figure out the cost of your preferred type of funeral using the

Funeral Home Price List:

The cost of a funeral can be divided into two parts: the funeral home fee and outside costs. The funeral home fee includes staff, services, facilities, vehicles and supplies such as a casket. Outside costs or disbursements are things like newspaper notices, clergy honorarium or cemetery costs that can be included on the funeral services contract to keep everything on one bill for the convenience of the family.

To help you better understand the cost of a funeral follow these steps:

Step 1:
Look over the Funeral Service Price List to see the different types of services offered with their respective cost breakdown.

Step 2:
Look over the funeral supplies and choose items which suit your style and budget.

Please note:  if cremation is requested, the laws of Ontario require that the person's body must be placed in a rigid container to be received at a crematorium.

Step 3:
Add the service fee to your selected supplies, which is then the total cost of the funeral home fee

Step 4:
Apply the GST (5%) to the total funeral home fee (service & supplies)

Step 5:
Looking at possible disbursements (outside costs), decide what might be selected. Some outside costs are shown as dependant on individual factors such as length of newspaper notices and receptions, but considering them as costs will help you better plan for your service of choice.

Step 6:
Add together the following:     

                     Funeral Home service fee & funeral supplies
                     +HST (13%) on funeral home fee & supplies
                     +Total of outside costs                      

                       =Quote for the total cost of a funeral
