John passed away peacefully at his home in Campbellville, Ontario on Monday, June 18, 2018 at the age of 82. John was the son of the late John S. Lind and Margaret (McHugh). His memory will be cherished forever by his children Dana (Bradley Manning), Toni (Steve Bradley), John “Jay” (Jillian) and Erica (Brad Mohr) as well as his Grandchildren Amanda (Sean), Brendon (Aysha), John (Alex), Mackenzie, Marshal, Ryan and Matthew and Great-Grandchildren Noah, Louis and Ella. He will always be remembered by his sisters Mike, Jane (John Eidt) and Ann.

A man who lived life to the fullest, John could often be found fly fishing, driving antique cars, flying his plane or duck hunting with his retrievers. He was a fundamental part of the success of the St. Marys Cement Company, having taken the reins from his father and grandfather before him. John, being a very community minded man, was actively involved with many charitable organizations including the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation and the Ontario Hospital Association. He was an integral part in founding and building the Kensington Foundation. All who knew and loved John will feel a tremendous sense of loss, but also a tremendous sense of gratitude for the life he shared. The family would like to say a very special thank you to all the caregiving “angels” who tirelessly worked around the clock to ensure John had the very best quality of care.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at ST. JAMES ANGLICAN CHURCH, 65 Church St. S. St. Marys Ontario, on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. A celebration will follow at the St. Marys Golf and Country Club, 769 Queen St E, St. Marys. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Marys Memorial Hospital Foundation, The Kensington Foundation, St. James Anglican Church in St. Marys or a charity of choice.
