Iona Everitt (Cooke)

Iona Everitt (Cooke), of St. Marys and formerly of Kirkton, passed away at Wildwood Care Centre, St. Marys, on November 9, 2018 at the age of 88.


Beloved wife of the late Ross Everitt (2016), whom she married on June 19, 1954. Dear mother of Jo-Anne Otto and her husband Ed, Don Everitt, and Dennis (predeceased in infancy). Loving and proud grandmother of Derek (Bridget) and great-grandmother of Kayden. Sister of Phyllis McPhail, Doris Scheurman (Greg), Alvin Cooke (Shirley) and sister-in-law of Joan Cooke and Norma Vint. Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Predeceased by siblings George Cooke (Barbara), Lloyd Cooke, Ross Cooke (Lenore) Bob Cooke, and brother-in-law Jack McPhail.

Iona was a long-time member of Exeter Order of the Eastern Star and Daylight Order of the Eastern Star.

Family and friends are invited to the Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington St. South, St. Marys (519-284-2820), on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018 for visitation from noon until the time of the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Pastor Paul Vollick officiating. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery.

Reception following the burial at the Wildstone Restaurant at the Stone Willow Inn, 940 Queen St. East, St. Marys.
