Agnes Feryn passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Stratford General Hospital on January 13, 2017, a day before her 85th birthday.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Feryn. Cherished and adored by her three loving daughters, Patricia, Margaret and Anne.
She will be deeply missed by Patricia and Jim White and their children, Geoffrey, Christine and Brendan; Margaret and Steve Hartman and their children, Jennifer (Jamey), Krista, Kaydee (Geoff), Brent (Cindy) and Joel; Anne MacNeill (Feryn) and partner Vince and her children, Dana and Faren.
Proud great-grandmother to Katelyn, Amelia, Stefan and Elise Joye. Dear sister of Margaret Raes (Ludo VanGeert) and pre-deceased by parents Maurice and Irma Raes and siblings Jaak and Gabrielle. Dear sister-in-law to Joseph’s siblings, including Louis† (Monique) Feryn of Stratford and Jeanne, Robert†(Magdalena†), Marcel† (Christiane), Gerard (Germaine†) and Maurice (Cecile) of Belgium.
Born in Deloraine, Manitoba, Agnes moved to Belgium with her family in her youth. There she met her beloved husband, Joseph and they immigrated to Canada together in 1957, where they were married for 52 years. They led a bountiful life dairy farming in Downie Township, before retiring to St. Marys on Tracey Street, Agnes later moved to Fairhill, St. Marys and McCarthy Place Retirement Residence Stratford. Agnes was a long time member of the Holy Name of Mary CWL and she enjoyed spending time as a n executive member of the local Benelux Club. Agnes and Joe also spent many winters staying active in Florida after their retirement. Agnes enjoyed many visits from her dear sister Margaret and family from Belgium. We would like to thank all of Agnes' caregivers, who helped her enjoy her final years.
Family and friends will be received at Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home, 47 Wellington Street South, St. Marys on Sunday, January 15, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral Mass will take place at Holy Name of Mary Parish, 149 King Street North, St. Marys on Monday, January 16 at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery.
Reception to follow at the St. Marys Golf & Country Club 769 Queen St. E. St. Marys.
