With immeasurable sadness St. Marys has lost a loving husband, son, brother and uncle, a great friend and most of all, a truly amazing and genuinely kind-hearted person. Daniel Kirk Rankin passed away on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 surrounded by his family at Victoria Hospital in London at the age of 29.
Dan will be remembered as a talented writer, journalist, photographer, musician, actor, avid New York Ranger and Toronto Blue Jay fan and dedicated volunteer in St. Marys.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Meagan MacArthur, his parents Kirk and Judi Rankin and parents-in-law Elizabeth MacArthur, John MacArthur and Julie McGill, his siblings; Jamie Rankin (Nicole), Curtis Rankin (Amy), and Erin Fifield, and Matthew MacArthur, his nieces and nephews Jaxon, Kylie and Avery Fifield, and Owen and Ian Rankin, grandfather Jim Rankin and many extended family members.
The loss of Dan’s life allowed others to live through donation of his organs.
Family and friends are invited to the ST. MARYS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 147 Widder St. East, St. Marys, on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016 for visitation from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Private family interment to follow in St. Marys Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Dan’s Creative Writing Scholarship Fund at DCVI, or to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
