The following information is what your next of kin should be aware of in order to finalize an estate at time of death:

• Where to find the most up-to-date will: (local law firms)

• Your vital statistic information: full name, date and place of birth, social insurance number, current full mailing address, occupation during working career, marital status, spouse's name before marriage, date of marriage, parent's names and their places of birth.

• Any life insurance policies or pension plans either through work or private and the contact information to obtain it

• Location of your bank accounts, safety deposit box and any other investments

• Location of your identification: birth certificate, health card, social insurance card, passport, marriage license, driver's license

• Where to locate your your bills for day to day expenses: mortgages, utility bills, credit cards, insurance for property and automobile.

• Cemetery property

• Contact information for relatives and friends who you should be contacted after death has occurred
