Please note:

Excluding the metal caskets, traditional burial caskets may also be cremated. However, prior to cremation, the crematorium staff will remove casket handles that are not made of wood.

The Andrew L. Hodges Funeral Home provides a plywood cremation container as its basic  container for two reasons:

1. It is stronger than cardboard

2. When cremated, will burn cleaner than a pressboard.

Also, it has been priced to be lower than most funeral home and cremation company cardboard containers.

A rental casket is specially designed for cremation to reduce cost and effects to the environment. It consists of an inner simple container to hold the body and an outer shell that works like any other casket for the purpose of a visitation and/or funeral service.
After the funeral service, the funeral home staff removes the inner container from the outer casket shell. The inner container holding the body is then transported to the crematorium. When cremation takes place, because the inner container has no wood stain, there are less harmful emissions entered into the environment.
