After the funeral

That question "Where to begin?" is often asked following the funeral. Whether you hire a lawyer and accountant to look after everything or do it yourself, the following information listed below is there to help the survivor(s) focus on what may need to be completed; as some estates are more complicated than others.

If the deceased person had a will -with a named executor-that person(s) is responsible for finalizing the estate.

Every estate is different; with some more complex than others, but please know that everything cannot be done in a day. It takes time, but by understanding what needs to be done, contacting professionals for assistance if needed and taking things one step at a time, you will be able to complete the tasks.
